What it does for your water
The HQUA 5000E Electronic Water Descaler is an electronic descaler that works on the pipe from the outside. Its listing gives a flow rating of 24 GPM.
Like every salt-free option, it leaves the hardness minerals in the water: a test strip reads the same afterwards, and the maker's claim is about scale, not softness.
Electronic units need a power outlet near the pipe and work only on the pipe they are wrapped around; the maker lists which pipe materials and diameters suit them.
The listing also gives features listed Lightweight, Portable, Water Saver Technology; mounting Wall Mount; power Corded Electric; capacity stated as 24 gallons; model 5000E; material Aluminum.
The listing gives dimensions of 5 in (L) x 1.5 in (W) x 3.5 in (H), a shipping weight of 16 ounces and adapter, main control unit, coils in the box.
