What it does for your water
The Aquasana EQ-1000-AST-UV Electronic Water Descaler is an electronic descaler that works on the pipe from the outside.
Expect no change on a hardness test. Salt-free units are sold on reducing scale build-up; removing calcium and magnesium takes an ion-exchange softener.
Electronic units need a power outlet near the pipe and work only on the pipe they are wrapped around; the maker lists which pipe materials and diameters suit them.
Other listed details: features listed UV Purifier, Salt-Free Descaler, Multi Stage Filtration; mounting Under Sink; power Manual Operation; capacity stated as 1000000 gallons; model EQ-1000-AST-UV; material Activated Carbon, KDF Filtration Media.
The listing gives pre-filter, post-filter in the box.
