What it does for your water
The AFWFilters Fleck 5600SXT 16,000-Grain Water Softener is a whole-house softener rated at 16,000 grains on a Fleck 5600SXT control valve. Its listing gives a service flow of 8 GPM.
Grain ratings are full-salt figures. At an efficient salt setting its 1 cu ft of resin delivers about 24,000 grains between regenerations, enough for up to 3 people on 15 grains-per-gallon water regenerating weekly, or 1 on 25 grains per gallon. Size it to your own water.
The Fleck 5600SXT head is one of the most widely serviced valves; seal kits, pistons, boards and meters that name it are in the valve parts lookup.
From the listing: model 5600SXT; resin 1 cu ft; valve Fleck 5600SXT; flow 8 GPM.
The listing gives tannin filter water softener in the box.
